1. A method of manufacturing a fatty acid methyl ester (SMEFA) suitable for use in an engine for use as a biodiesel, which comprises the steps of: (i) collecting naturally occurring tin marine microalgae selected from the group consisting of Microspora sp. and Cladophora sp . or cultivated Chlorella variabilis to obtain algae biomass; (ii) drying the biomass in the sun to a residual moisture level of 5-10%; (iii) pretreating the biomass from step (ii) with a steam jet or osmotic shock to destroy cell walls; (iv ) extracting lipids from the algal biomass from step (iii) using hexane as a solvent, or optionally diesel fuel, when the fuel must be used in mixed form to produce crude oil; (v) removing hexane and processing the resulting crude oils fuller earth or, optionally, treating the extract from step (ii) directly with fuller earth to remove phospholipids, pigments and other impurities; (vi) filtering to remove suspended solids and further treating the extract oil from step (v) to reduce the content of free fatty acids (FFA) if it is necessary to obtain a purified oil; (vii) carrying out an alkaline catalyzed transesterification of the purified oil from step (vi), separating the SMEFA and its further purification to obtain suitable for use lzovaniya engine SMEZHK.2.
