FIELD: process engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for preparation of cold rolling mill working roll surfaces, including those with CVC profile, with specified parameters of surface microtopography. Proposed process comprises roll body grinding and texturing by electric current pulses fed through dielectric fluid between spinning roll and electrodes displaced along the roll body. Note here that pulse texturing is conducted by oscillating displacement of the roll with flushing of clearance between electrode and roll surface at efficiency not lower than 95% and roll axial displacement at the speed of 35-80 mm/min to get rough surface. Said surface features average arithmetic deviation of profile Ra equal to 1.0-12.0 mcm while the number of profile ledges per 1 cm Pc makes 55-103 1/cm.;EFFECT: higher precision of roll surface roughness parameters.;7 dwg
