FIELD: textiles, paper.;SUBSTANCE: device for sharpening knives and scissors according to both variants comprises a base having the working, end and side surfaces, with a recess for a grinding stone, made in the working surface. In the base the through groove is made, located across the width of the side surface of the base. The base is connected with the U-shaped stop with the grooves on side surfaces, having the ability to move along the through groove of the base and variable inclination relative to the working surface of the base. For fixing the U-shaped stop relative to the base in a predetermined position in the aligned grooves of the U-shaped stop and the base the screws are mounted, fixed with the fastening elements on one of the side surfaces of the base. On the outer side surfaces of the stop the notches are made corresponding to predetermined angles of sharpening the cutting edges of the blades of knives and scissors. According to the second embodiment, the U-shaped stop is additionally provided with bend intended for resting on it of the side surface of the blade of the knife or scissors.;EFFECT: obtaining optimal sharpening angles along the entire length of the cutting edges of the blades of knives and scissors with increasing periods of operation.;4 cl, 5 dwg
