FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of technology of creating composite polymer materials and can be used for preventing undesirable passivation by air or components, contained in technical hydrogen-containing gases and other gaseous media, of hydride-forming alloys, intended for hydrogen storage. Method of protecting powders of hydride-forming alloys for hydrogen storage includes covering particles of powder of hydrogen-accumulating alloy with barrier polymer film, preventing oxygen passage and easily passing hydrogen, with content of barrier polymer having to correspond to 2-15 wt % of weight of powder of hydrogen-accumulating alloy, and further carrying out procedure of hydrogen absorption activation.;EFFECT: invention provides preservation of phase composition, nanostructured condition and high activity of material in interaction with hydrogen, as well as eliminates carrying out additional procedures of activation of hydrogen-accumulating alloys.;5 dwg, 1 tbl, 5 ex
