A stanchion (2) for a rail-mounted stake car has a lower part (5) and an upper part (6), which are detachably connectable to each other in a first state or a second state. Preferably, the upper part (6) has two bores (9, 10) and the lower part (5) has a bore (11). In the first state, the first bore (9) of the upper part (6) is aligned with the bore (11) of the lower part (5), and in the second state the second bore (10) of the upper part (6) is in alignment with the bore (11) of the Bottom parts (5), so that the lower part (5) and the upper part (6) by means of a bolt (12) are connected to one another. The upper part (6) preferably has a straight section (7) and an angled end (8). The stanchions (2) are thus easily adaptable to two different clearance profiles.
