A fluid distribution assembly for use in a fuel cell, comprising: a separator plate (8, 14, 16, 68, 70) having a main side (78); a restriction member (34, 36, 38, 40) disposed above the main side (78); and a flow field (84) for supplying reactant in a flow direction (F) across the separator plate (8, 14, 16, 68, 70), the flow field (84) being defined by a plurality of nubs (80) attached to the separator plate (8, 14, 16, 68, 70) are formed and extend from the main side (78) in the direction of the limiting element (34, 36, 38, 40); wherein the plurality of nubs (80) comprises: a first series of nubs (86) arranged in a repeating manner across the separator plate (8, 14, 16, 68, 70) in a direction transverse to the flow direction (F) are; and a second series of nubs (88) arranged in a repeating manner across the separator plate (8, 14, 16, 68, 70) in a direction transverse to the flow direction (F); wherein the first and second series of nubs (86, 88) repeat in the flow direction (F) in an alternating manner across the separator plate (70); and wherein an axis (A1) defined along respective centers of nubs (80) of repeating first series of naps (86) is aligned with an outer edge of nubs (80) of repeating second series of naps (88).
