The invention relates to a plant and a method for treating landfill leachate comprising at least the process steps - biological purification - secondary treatment - physical cleaning by at least one filter, in particular activated carbon filter, wherein the secondary clarification removed return sludge is fed to the biological purification. In order to proceed favorably in terms of energy and cost, it is provided that between the secondary clarification and the physical purification by means of the at least one filter, the landfill leachate to be treated is subjected to flotation, wherein flotation sludge is fed to the biological purification.
