The footbridge (1) has a metal frame including longitudinal beams (3) and cross-pieces (4). A gap compensating device (5) includes a fixed part (6) and a platform (7) slidably movable relative to the fixed part to fill a gap between the fixed part and a coach. A foldable partition arranged on an upper part of the device pivots via hinge relative to the frame. Two retractable posts (10) arranged in a lower part of the frame pivot relative to the frame between a use position in which the posts are perpendicular to the frame and a non-use position in which the posts are placed against the frame.
