METHOD AND INSTALLATION OF CO2 CAPTURE BY FORMATION OF GAS HYDRATES

The method involves contacting a gas effluent (104) with a liquid mixture (115) of non-miscible liquid phases at first temperature and first pressure (P1) to produce slurry of carbon dioxide hydrates (105-108). Hydrates are separated from the slurry at second temperature and second pressure to release enriched carbon dioxide effluents (109-111) and second liquid mixtures (112-114) of the phases, where the second temperature is maintained by using the heat generated by very low vapor pressure water (118) in a combustion unit. The second temperature amounts to less than or equal to 0.1 bar. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an installation for collecting carbon dioxide contained in a gas effluent produced by a combustion unit (2) a coal thermal power plant.
