The present invention relates to a rear suspension of a vehicle such as a bicycle, a motorcycle or the like, of the type comprising a said chassis frame (1), an oscillating arm (7) integral with the frame (1) bearing the axis of the hub of a drive wheel, the oscillating arm (7) being secured to said frame (1) by at least two hinge means (8,9), and a damper (10) whose ends are secured respectively to the frame (1 ) and the swing arm (7) or the hinge means (8,9), said damper (10) having at one end a first eyelet (13) and at a second end a second eyelet (14); said suspension is remarkable in that it comprises a so-called extension piece (20) comprising at least one arm (22a, 22b; 22'a, 22'b) provided at one end with means allowing the articulation of said extension piece (20) to the swinging arm (7) and / or the articulation means (8,9) of the swinging arm (7) to the frame (1) and provided at its opposite end with a part of a recess (19) adapted to receive two half-shells (17a, 17b) positioned on either side of an eyelet (13, 14) of the damper (10) and on the other hand with a clamping collar (21) providing clamping of the two half-shells (17a, 17b) on said eyelet (13,14) of the damper (10).
