COMPRESSION STOCKINGS AND TUBES WITH BIOACTIVE AGENTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY AND VARICOSE VEINS

This invention describes compression stockings and tubes containing bioactive agents of natural, semi-synthetic or synthetic basis, for the treatment of venous insufficiency and other peripheral vascular diseases the preparation method. The compression stockings and tubes described in this invention have the ability to release gradually the bioactive agent to the patient's skin, through the phenomenon of compression and/or through the effect of interaction with the skin. In addition to the gradual release of the bioactive agents to the patient's skin having effect on vascular diseases, the textile material has additionally compression effects, conferred by the use of fibers with elastomeric properties, enabling the treatment of varicose veins and other manifestations of venous insufficiency in a simple and expeditious mode. In one embodiment of the present invention, the development of knee high or thigh high compression stockings/socks incorporating and releasing active principles, with a graduated compression that starts in the toes, is reported.
