PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately manage the sum of cash on hand in a currency receipts and withdrawals processing apparatus, which processes currency receipts and currency withdrawals, while allowing any difference between the sum of cash on hand in the apparatus and the actual sum of cash on.;SOLUTION: A currency receipts and withdrawals processing apparatus (automatic teller machine 1) is equipped with sum-on-hand tracking means 75 so configured as to consecutively keep track of the sum of currency in a receipts unit 3 by counting the sum of currency paid out of the receipts unit while counting the sum of currency accepted into the receipts unit, virtual sum-on-hand setting means 76 so configured as to set the sum-on-hand of paper money to be handled as currency present in the apparatus even though it is not actually present therein, and sum-on-hand-in-apparatus managing means 77 so configured as to manage the total of the sum of currency accepted into the receipts unit that sum-on-hand tracking means has kept and the virtual sum on hand set by the virtual sum-on-hand setting means as the sum on hand in the apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
