A header (100) for a combine harvester is described, the header comprising a frame (110), a cutterbar table (130) that is movably mounted to the frame (110), the cutterbar table (130) being configured to cut a standing crop, an intake auger (120) mounted to the frame (110) and configured to receive the cut crop; the intake auger (120) further being configured to rotate, during a normal state, in a predetermined direction, and to rotate, during a corrective state, in a predetermined reversed direction, an actuator assembly (140) configured to displace the cutterbar table (130) relative to the frame (110), thereby changing a distance between the cutterbar table (130) and the intake auger (120), a control unit (170) for controlling the actuator assembly (140)) and the intake auger (120), the control unit (170) being configured to, upon receipt of an error signal (176) indicative of a need to operate in the corrective state control the actuator assembly (140) to displace the cutterbar table (130) away from the intake auger (120) to a safe operating position, prior to controlling the intake auger (120) to rotate in the predetermined reversed direction.
