DENTAL PRODUCT FOR MAGNITUDE-CORRECT EVALUATION OF X-RAY IMAGES OF AREAS TO BE DIAGNOSED WITHIN THE ORAL CAVITY OF A PATIENT, AND USE OF A DENTAL PRODUCT

A dental product for magnitude-correct evaluation of X-ray images of areas to be diagnosed, particularly tooth areas and/or jaw bone areas, within the oral cavity of a patient has a main body (10') which is configured such that it can be taken in by the patient and can be fixed in direct proximity to the area that is to be diagnosed by X-ray. The main body (10') is made of a radiotransparent material, and the interior of the main body accommodates at least one reference object (12') made of material that absorbs X-rays. For the diagnosis, the dental product is placed in the mouth of the patient and is fixed by means of the patient biting on the dental product. An initially distorted X-ray image of the diagnosed area is corrected using the known magnitude of the at least one reference object accommodated in the interior of a main body of the dental product, such that a magnitude-correct image display is possible.
