It describes a fish passage of a shut-off structure in a river. The fish passage comprises a chamber having first and second closable openings, the first closable opening connecting the chamber to an upstream side of the shut-off structure and the second closable opening connecting the chamber to an underwater side of the shut-off structure. An entry basin on the underwater side of the shut-off building is designed with at least one opening in the direction of the underwater side as a passage drain and arranged in the flow direction behind the chamber. In this case, the outlet drain is set up to attract migratory fish upriver so that they collect in the entry basin and wait to pass the fish passage in the direction of the upstream side. An entry basin on the upstream side of the shut-off building connects the chamber with the upstream side and makes it easier for fish to find and pass through the passage. In this case, the provided on the upstream side of the entry pool is designed as a rise shaft, which is adapted to let flow through the drainage.
