DEPLOYMENT HANDLE FOR A DELIVERY DEVICE WITH MECHANISM FOR QUICK RELEASE OF A PROSTHESIS AND RE-SHEATHING OF DEVICE TIP

A prosthesis delivery device is disclosed with a handle assembly at the distal end of the delivery device. The handle assembly comprises a main handle (10) and a nut threadingly disposed on the main handle (10). The nut comprises with a first configuration in which the nut is engaged with the outer surface of the main handle (10) and a second configuration in which the nut is disengaged from the outer surface of the main handle (10). A sleeve is disposed about at least a portion of the nut and longitudinally moveable relative to the nut from a proximal position to a distal position, so that, when the sleeve is in the proximal position the nut is engaged with the outer surface of the main handle and when the sleeve is in the distal position the nut is disengaged from the main handle. Disengaging the nut from the main handle (10) facilitates quick sheath retraction and deployment of at least the distal end of the prosthesis as well as recapturing the proximal end of the device within the sheath.
