PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting target plant locality determining method capable of determining with high certainty whether or not a planting target area is an area applicable to a biodiversity conservation area for the planting target plant when the planting target plant is planted in the planting target area.SOLUTION: The planting target plant locality determining method comprises a genotyping step (S105) of preliminarily creating a geographical distribution pattern database DB for each genotype corresponding to the same plant species collected from a plurality of regions and then determining the genotype of the planting target plant; and a locality determining step (S106) of determining whether or not the genotype determined in the genotyping step (S105) based on a geographical distribution pattern of the geographical distribution pattern database DB is applicable to the planting target area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
