PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric smoke detector capable of improving the work efficiency of sensitivity adjustment to complete the sensitivity adjustment for a short time, and a method for testing the sensitivity thereof.SOLUTION: A photoelectric smoke detector is obtained by housing: a black box (14 and 15) arranged inside in the state that the optical axis directions of a light emitting element (17) and a light receiving element (18) are set not so as to be coincident with each other inside a housing consisting of a body base (11) and a body case (12) for covering the entire upper part of the body base; and a circuit board (13) on which the light emitting element and the light receiving element are mounted. The centers of slit-like openings are formed to be coincident with each other in the black box, the circuit board and the body base, respectively, corresponding to a smoke detection space provided between the light emitting element and light receiving element in the black box.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
