PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of properly selecting a traveling locus.SOLUTION: A traveling locus selection system uses, for example, a threshold, which relates to a sideways distance from a self vehicle to a candidate locus, to select a candidate locus, which is present within a threshold range, from among candidate loci (see Fig. 5A), and extracts a candidate vehicle, the distance from the self vehicle of which is the smallest, from among candidate vehicles having the selected candidate locus (see Fig. 5B). The traveling locus of the thus extracted candidate vehicle is selected and information on the selected traveling locus is outputted to an ECU. Further, for example, a threshold relating to the distance from the self vehicle is used to extract candidate vehicles, which are present within a threshold distance range, from among candidate loci. A traveling locus the sideways distance of which is the smallest is selected from among traveling loci of the extracted candidate vehicles, and outputted to the ECU. Accordingly, for example, erroneous selection of a traveling locus of an adjoining vehicle can be inhibited.
