PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated wire having a high space factor, and excellent in edgewise and flatwise bend processability, and insulation breakdown hardness after being extended, and a coil and an electron/electrical machine using the same.SOLUTION: An insulated wire has an insulated coating layer comprising thermoplastic resin on the outer periphery of a conductor having a rectangular cross section and a corner part of a curvature radius Rc. A relation among a thickness t1 (μm) of the insulated coating layer coated on the side part of the long side of a conductor cross section, a thickness t2 (μm) of the insulated coating layer coated on the side part of the short side, and a thickness t3 (μm) of the corner part of the insulated coating layer is as follows: t3/{(t1+t2)/2}≥1.2; and the t1(μm) and the t2(μm) are independently 20 μm-50 μm. A ratio of a conductor cross sectional area Sc (mm) to an insulated wire cross sectional area Sw (mm) is as follows: 1.0Sc/Sw≥0.8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
