22Provided is an insulated electrical wire a coil and an electronic/electric equipment using same. The insulated electrical wire has an insulation cover layer comprising a thermoplastic resin on the peripheral surface of a conductor whereof the cross sectional shape is rectangular having a long edge a short edge and a corner portion of curvature radius Rc and is characterized by a thickness t1 (µm) of the insulation cover layer covering a surface at a long edge in a transversal cross section of the conductor which continues in the axial line direction of the conductor a thickness t2 (µm) of the insulation cover layer covering a surface at a short edge in the transversal cross section of the conductor which continues in the axial line direction of the conductor and a thickness t3 (µm) in a corner portion of the insulation cover layer being related by the following formula (1): Formula (1) t3/{(t1 + t2)/2} = 1.2 each of the t1 (µm) and t2 (µm) independently being 20 µm to 50 µm inclusive and the value of the ratio of the conductor cross section Sc (mm) over the insulated electrical wire cross section Sw (mm) being related by the following formula (2): Formula (2) 1.0 Sc/Sw = 0.8.
