PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polypropylene resin easily providing a foam sheet having low open-cell rate.SOLUTION: There is provided a modified polypropylene resin by reacting an aromatic vinyl monomer with a polypropylene resin and having phase angle calculated by a frequency dispersion dynamic viscoelasticity measurement at 200°C of 30 to 70° at frequency of 0.01 Hz. There is provided a method for manufacturing the modified polypropylene resin having phase angle calculated by a frequency dispersion dynamic viscoelasticity measurement at 200°C of 30 to 70° at frequency of 0.01 Hz by melting and mixing a polypropylene resin, organic peroxide and a resin composition containing the aromatic vinyl monomer and melting and mixing the resin composition containing the organic peroxide of 0.1 to 1.5 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the polypropylene resin and the aromatic vinyl monomer of 0.1 to 10 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the polypropylene resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
