PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf board crack detection device that detects a shelf board crack occurring upon a calcination process, and allows automation of a mounting change work of a honeycomb structure and efficiency thereof to be achieved.SOLUTION: A detection device 1 includes: a lifting mechanism part 10 that is provided with a lifting section 11a and the like lifting a honeycomb structure and shelf board; an actual load value measurement part 20 that mesures an actual load value W1 and the like to be added to the lifting section 11a and the like; a total load value calculation part 30 that totalizes a plurality of measured actual load values W1 and the like to calculate a total load value T; a total load value determination part 40 that compares a reference total weight value S of the honeycomb structure and shelf board with the total load value T to determine whether a total load value determination condition 41 is satisfied; an actual load value determination part 60 that compares an actual load value W1 and the like with a specified load value X to determine whether an actual load value determination condition 61 is satisfied; and a shelf board crack determination part 70 that, when the total load value determination condition 41 or the actual load value determination condition 61 is not satisfied, determines that the shelf board is cracked.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
