PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reliably preventing a start failure of a switching power supply device compared to traditional techniques.;SOLUTION: A switching power supply device (1) comprises: an AC-DC converter (11) for converting AC current to DC current and including an inrush current preventing thermistor (113) having negative temperature characteristics; a DC-DC converter (12) which steps up or steps down the output voltage of the AC-DC converter; and a microcomputer (13) which controls the magnitude of the LED current supplied from the DC-DC converter to an LED driver circuit (2) on the basis of the output voltage of the AC-DC converter. The microcomputer increases load current in a step-by-step manner so that the magnitude of the output voltage does not fall below a predetermined threshold value immediately after the switching power supply device is started.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
