PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing speed data on a plurality of segments of a region within a map, which determines a route based on a speed profile approximate to an actual traffic flow at a travel time.SOLUTION: The method comprises: obtaining speed data when traveling through each segment at different times; generating from the speed data for each segment, data on at least one normal speed profile comprising an average speed of travel through the segment for a time recurring weekly; for each of one or more segments, generating at least one data piece on an abnormal speed profile comprising an expected speed of travel through the segment during the specified time, the specified time being a time that does not occur weekly; and at determination of the route, assigning to each of the one or more segments of the map data the normal speed profile and the abnormal speed profile corresponding to the condition at the travel time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
