PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a POS system in which a registration device and an account adjustment device are separated from each other to have customers' money exchanged without requiring store personnel to go to the account adjustment device.SOLUTION: A POS system having a registration device for registering commercial products and an account adjustment device for adjusting the accounts for commercial products registered by the registration device on the basis of adjustment instructions from the registration device is equipped with money exchange instruction means that gives exchange instructions in response to operation of the registration device or customers' operation of the account adjustment device and money exchange means that exchanges money in accordance with exchange instructions from the money exchange instruction means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
