PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a collector for an electrochemical element by which internal resistance is reduced and quick charge/discharge is made possible.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the collector for an electrochemical element includes the steps of applying a coating liquid to a metal foil; and removing an organic solvent and forming a coating layer over the metal foil. The coating liquid contains: at least one of methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl ethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl starch, hydroxypropyl starch, dextrin, pullulan, dextran, guar gum and hydroxypropyl guar gum; divalent or more organic acid or its derivative; carbon particles; and the organic solvent including an aprotonic polar solvent and a protonic polar solvent, and does not contain water.
