PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection control circuit which detects a failure of an output element, and can maintain a bus line in a controllable state after the occurrence of a failure, and a failure detection control method.SOLUTION: A failure detection control circuit 10 comprises: two output elements 23 which are mounted in series in a bus line 41, and switch the switch-on/off of the bus line 41 from the earth; an output control part 21 which transmits switching commands to the output elements 23, and transmits an output signal Z to the bus line 41; a receiving part 22 which is arranged in a zone from a front-stage output element 23a in the bus line 41 up to a rear-stage output element 23b, and receives the potential of the zone as a response; and a determination part 28 which determines a failure of at least either of the two output elements 23 on the basis of a command and a response of the output control part 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
