PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical controller provided with a neighborhood point search function capable of making a more appropriate block start point a neighborhood point in processing in which a plurality of block start points exist within a neighborhood point distance.SOLUTION: A numerical controller has a neighborhood point search function that moves a tool controlled by a movable shaft and a revolving shaft from the present position of the tool onto a processing path directed by a processing program within a neighborhood point distance and determines a neighborhood point in consideration of both position of the tip point of the tool and tool attitude when the neighborhood point is searched. By adopting the present search method, it becomes possible to determine an originally desired block start point as the neighborhood point even when there is a plurality of block start points within a neighborhood point distance from a present tool position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
