PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fired pencil lead having good balance between bending strength and the density of a written line, by improving the problem that, in a thin line-shaped fired pencil lead, though a fired lead can be obtained, when trying to acquire sufficient breakage strength, a lead body is hardly abraded to lower a handwriting density.SOLUTION: In a fired pencil lead, a blending material in which the weight ratio of a thermoplastic resin to the total weight of graphite and the thermoplastic resin is 42-50 wt% is kneaded, extruded into a thin line and then thermally treated, to thereby form a plurality of protrusions in which a cross-sectional diameter is 0.05-0.25 mm, and a height in the longitudinal direction of a side wall is 0.3-4.5% to the cross-sectional diameter.SELECTED DRAWING: None
