PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which promotes the growth of gramineous plants using microorganisms.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a growth promoter for gramineous plants including a bacterial cell suspension of Herbaspirillum sp. 022S4-11 strain (accession number FERM P-22001), and a method of cultivating gramineous plants using coat seeds formed by coating the seeds of gramineous plants with the growth promoter, thereby achieving growth promotion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
