PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Bacillus subtilis variant which can produce poly-γ-glutamic acid with high yield.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a Bacillus subtilis variant which has a genome in which one or more regions selected from the group consisting of a prophage 6 region, prophage 1 region, prophage 4 region, PBSX region, prophage 5 region, prophage 3 region, spb region, pks region, skin region, pps region, prophage 2 region, ydcL-ydeK-ydhU region, yisB-yitD region, yunA-yurT region, cgeE-ypmQ region, yeeK-yesX region, pdp-rocR region, ycxB-sipU region, SKIN-Pro 7 region, sbo-ywhH region, yybP-yyaJ region, and yncM-fosB region are deleted, wherein an expression of at least one gene selected from the group consisting of Bacillus subtilis gene pgsB, pgsC, pgsA, and pgsE, and equivalent genes thereof are enhanced, and at least one gene selected from the group consisting of alsS gene and alsD gene are deleted or inactivated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
