PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-sulfur battery (Li-S battery) having ion conductivity comparable to that of a liquid electrolyte of organic carbonate, in which a parasitic reaction termed "PS oxidation-reduction shuttle" and forming insoluble lithium polysulfide species(LiO) in a lithium anode is suppressed, and the movement of sulfur species to a lithium anode electrode can be reduced by a solid electrolyte.SOLUTION: A battery comprises: a lithium anode; a separator adjacent to the anode; and a cathode adjacent to the separator and opposed to the anode. The cathode has comb teeth like stripes of first and second materials. The first material includes sulfur, carbon and a first solid electrolyte. The second material includes a second solid electrolyte comprising a glass or ceramic electrolyte or an organic electrolyte.SELECTED DRAWING: None
