PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven or knitted fabric for a swimming wear, formed with water repellent fine hairs (fluffs) on the surface thereof so as to have a floatation effect, and reduce water resistance to be suitable for swimming race, and a swimming wear comprising the same.SOLUTION: A woven or knitted fabric A for a swimming wear is a woven or knitted fabric constituted of a synthetic fiber multifilament yarn and an elastic fiber yarn. The woven or knitted fabric for a swimming wear is such that: one surface side of the woven or knitted fabric is formed with fluffs K by raising processing; and both surfaces of one surface side where the fluffs are formed and the other surface side are applied with water-repellent finishing. A swimming wear obtained by using the woven or knitted fabric for a swimming wear for at least part thereof is such that one surface side where the raising processing of the woven or knitted fabric for a swimming wear is applied and the fluffs are formed constitutes a front side of the swimming wear.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
