High quality nickel mold for optical quality glass molding and glass plate molding method using this mold

The disclosure relates to a high-purity nickel mold for use in forming a three-dimensional glass substrate, along with a method for making the three-dimensional glass substrate. The high purity mold has a nickel oxide layer on the molding surface, and the nickel oxide layer has a thickness of about 200 nm to about 20 μm. This mold composition minimizes defects in the molded glass substrate and provides an optical quality molded glass article for use in electronics applications.
