The present disclosure relates to compensation for delays in the synchronization period of the uplink frame and downlink frame at the base station in a cellular communications network. Generally, the base station includes a wireless device and a wireless device controller which together form at least a part of a base station. In one embodiment, the wireless device includes a first interface configured to receive data from the wireless device controller, and a second interface configured to transmit the data to the wireless device controller . During the synchronization period, the wireless device, the first interface of the wireless device receives a synchronization message from the wireless device controller. The wireless device, along with being added artificial delays from the first interface device in the delay to the second interface, passes the synchronization message from the first interface of the wireless device to the second interface of the wireless device. ..
