PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and automatically detect a shape of a feature surface with luxuriating vegetation on the basis of three-dimensional coordinate data of a point group extracted from the feature surface.SOLUTION: Point group extraction means 20 extracts an attention point group positioned within a short distance from a perpendicular cutting plane. Boundary search means 22 searches a boundary line formed from a feature surface within the cutting plane on the basis of a projective point group that is a projective image of the attention point group onto the cutting plane. Unit region setting means 30 divides the cutting plane in a lattice shape and sets a plurality of unit regions. Lower limit unit region extraction means 32 investigates vertical columns of unit regions in order from down to up and extracts a unit region in which the projective point group is first discovered, as a lower limit unit region. Feature point extraction means 34 extracts a point of a minimum height in the projective point group within the lower limit unit region as a feature point. Boundary determination means 38 determines a folding line having the feature point for each vertical column of unit regions as a node, as a boundary line.
