A lifter (2) and method for handling of a wind turbine rotor blade (16) is provided. Further provided are a rotor blade (16) for a wind power generator, a marking method for the rotor blade (16), and a system comprising the rotor blade (16) and the lifter (2). The lifter (2) has at least one pair of arms (81a, 81b, 82a, 82b) with a pad (10) for contacting the outer surface of the rotor blade (16) within a predetermined gripping area (20). A grip jaw (81, 82) is provided. The lifter (2) also includes a detector (14) for visual inspection of invisible marks on the surface (18) of the rotor blade (16).
