Fiber reinforced polymer composite with hard interfacial phase

A fiber reinforced polymer composition comprising a fiber and an adhesive composition, wherein the adhesive composition comprises at least a thermosetting resin, a curing agent, and a hard interface material. When cured, the adhesive composition forms a good bond with the reinforcing fibers and an interface region comprising a hard interface material is formed between the reinforcing fibers and the adhesive composition. Further embodiments include prepregs and methods of making composite articles by curing the adhesive composition and reinforcing fibers.
