An effective technique for extending the usable lifetime for memory with limited write endurance is described. Techniques for cache wear leveling handle unbalanced write traffic on the cache line, which causes the cache line to be written heavily, thus causing it to cease functioning much faster than other lines in the cache. . The counter is incremented for each write operation to the cache array. The line affected by the current write operation that caused the counter to reach the threshold is evicted from the cache rather than writing data to the affected line. The dynamic adjustment of the threshold value can be performed according to the operation program. Updates to the current replacement policy pointer are stopped because the counter has reached the threshold.
