PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem where an existing method for charging a storage battery from a DC power supply device may shorten the life of or damage the storage battery owing to an excessive charging current and may stop a load device connected.SOLUTION: A DC power supply device 10 includes: a current measurement section 41 for measuring a charging/discharge current Ib supplied from a power supply section 20 to a storage battery 60 or from the storage battery 60 to an external load 50 and outputting a charging/discharge current value S41 at constant time intervals; a voltage measurement section 42 for measuring a charging/discharge terminal voltage Vb and outputting a charging/discharge terminal voltage value S42 at the constant time intervals; and a monitoring and control section 30 for calculating an internal resistance value r of the storage battery 60 on the basis of the charging/discharge current value S41 and the charging/discharge terminal voltage value S42 input at the constant time intervals, and controlling an output voltage Vout so as to supply a desired charging current Ichg to the storage battery 60 on the basis of the calculated internal resistance value r. Such a method of charging the storage battery from the DC power supply device 10 can avoid shortening the life of or damaging the storage battery owing to an excessive charging current.
