Analysis apparatus and method for analyzing DNA double-strand break damage

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytic technology with which DNA damage that occurs in a cell can be analyzed promptly and quantitatively.;SOLUTION: A DNA analysis apparatus (1) comprises image capture means (25) which captures images picked up in a time-series manner by introducing first fluorescent protein accumulated in a DNA double-strand cutting spot to a cell of an observation target, and image analysis means (15) which analyzes the captured images. For each of the images picked up in the time-series manner, the image analysis means (15) detects a region of an image of cell nucleus included in each image, counts the number of light-emitting spots with light emission of the first fluorescent protein included in the detected region, further determines an area of a light-emitting region with the light emission of the first fluorescent protein included in the detected region and generates, as analytic data, data determined in the time-series manner about a count value of the light-emitting spots and the area of the light-emitting region.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
