Alveolar cap for placement in the extraction site

The extraction socket devices are designed to protect the extraction socket immediately after tooth extraction. These devices protect the socket from oral bacteria and food, support a space to prevent collapse of the alveolar ridge during healing, contain any bone graft material inside of the socket, and provide comfort to patient during the healing process. Procedures are also disclosed for placing the devices in an extraction site to obtain the benefits of the disclosed devices. The dental extraction site socket cage (10) comprises a series of horizontal beams (15) having a curve along a length thereof wherein an arc of the curve of each beam (15) is substantially equivalent and is selected to orient the beams (15) to form a semi-circular structure and comprising fixation means (16) located on an external circumferential surface (12) of a plurality of the horizontal beams (15); and a vertical strut (11) connecting each horizontal beam (15).
