PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for bending an edge of the end seal of a pillow package in a horizontal bag-making filling/packaging machine, in which an edge part of a pillow package with a gusset is bent by a simple method without using an exclusive different apparatus, and which also enable an ordinary pillow package to be manufactured.;SOLUTION: After vertical end-sealers 11a, 11b form an end seal part and a cutter cuts the pillow package, the end-sealers 11a, 11b, while horizontally moving at the same speed together with a cylindrical package material, stop in halfway a separation action and mutually separate by a certain distance. With the gusset claw of the gusset apparatus pushing the side surface of the cylindrical package material within the separation action stop section, a folding plate arranged on the supper side end-sealer 11a is lowered to bend the end seal part. The end seal part is held in cooperation with the gusset claw to impart a folding habit to the softened end seal part immediately after the end sealing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
