The invention provides a method for observing coating solution, a coating method, a device for observing coating solution, and a coating device capable of easily detecting shape lines of accumulated liquid of coating liquid and coating defects coated to a support film. Slurry (S) sprayed out of a coating head (12) is continuously coated to one main surface of the support film (F) transferred by transfer rollers (18, 20). From the other perspective, the other main surface of the support film (F) is laterally coated to infrared rays emitted from irritating devices (34, 36) for irradiation of slurry (S) of the support film (F). Based on image data outputted from a camera (32), the coating state of the slurry (S) is observed. Additionally, replacements are made to coating setting such as the supply amount of the slurry (S) and tension of the support film (F) according to the observed coating state.
