PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimization technique capable of converting a type of a BCD operation into a type of a DFP operation by solving difficulty resulting from the conversion from the type of the BCD operation being a calculation of a memory unit into the type of the DFP operation being a calculation of a register unit in optimization of a binary code of a language having access to a BCD type variable.SOLUTION: The optimization technique according to this invention generates a first compiler expression of a binary code, analyzes use and definition linkage and/or definition and use linkage for the first complier expression, identifies a logic BCD variable in the first complier expression on the basis of a result of the analysis, assigns a temporary variable to the identified logic BCD variable to generate a second complier expression, and converts an operation of a pack decimal number and a type of the temporary variable in the second complier expression into a DFP type on condition that code information and accuracy information are not lost due to conversion from the type of the BCD operation into the type of the DFP operation.
