PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the measurement accuracy of a portable coordinate measurement machine (CMM) which comprises a plurality of jointed arm segments.;SOLUTION: This method includes: sensing deformation of a component of an articulated arm 14 from the component when the articulated arm 14 is placed under a load or loaded conditions, this deformation causing an error in a result of measurement by a CMM 10; and correcting the error in accordance with the sensed deformation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
