PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed honeycomb structure inspection apparatus configured to inspect depth and defects of a sealed section simultaneously, in a short time and a non-contact manner.;SOLUTION: A sealed honeycomb structure inspection apparatus includes: a light source 1 which irradiates one end face 35 of a cylindrical sealed honeycomb structure 31 having a porous partition wall for forming a plurality of cells and a sealed section formed at an end of the cell; a camera-side lens 2 which condenses light transmitted through the sealed section of the sealed honeycomb structure 31 and emitted from the other end face 36; a camera 3 which receives the light condensed in the camera-side lens 2; and an image processing machine 4 which image-processes the light received by the camera 3, calculates luminance of the light transmitted through the sealed section, and displays it. A calibration curve is created which shows a relation between the luminance of the light received by the camera 3 and a seal depth, by use of a sealed honeycomb structure with a known depth of the sealed section, to calculate the seal depth on the basis of the calibration curve.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
