PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for highly efficiently producing a resin raw material comprising a lignin derivative as a main component from a lignocellulosic biomass by subcritical water treatment.SOLUTION: A method for producing a resin raw material includes: pulverizing a lignocellulosic biomass; mixing the biomass with water to make a water slurry; treating the slurry at a prescribed temperature under a saturated vapor pressure or higher for over 30 min; performing a solid-liquid separation at the prescribed temperature after reaction treatment to separate a solid polymeric lignin component; separately taking out the henicellulose hydrolysate of a high-temperature hot water-soluble component, cellulose hydrolysate and a low-molecular weight lignin derivative being the resin raw material; separating the hemicellulose hydrolysate and the cellulose hydrolysate at 100°C or below in a state of the low-temperature hot water-soluble component; and separating the low-temperature lignin derivative being the resin raw material in a grease form. A device therefor is also provided. The invention enables high-efficiency production process of the resin raw material avoiding clogging in the outlet line of a reactor.
