PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which provides an opening for inserting an investigation apparatus into a steel pipe of a main column material when investigating the status of corrosion on an inner face of the main column material, the device being used for a steel pipe iron tower provided with a square pyramid-shaped tower part, and an investigation method using the device.;SOLUTION: An auxiliary device for main column material inner face investigation is formed from an upper fixture which is fixed on the top of a square pyramid-shaped tower part; a lower fixture fixed in the vicinity of an upper end portion of a main column material; and a support member which is installed by interposing a jack between the upper fixture and the lower fixture. The upper fixture is formed from a pair of holding members for vertically holding a top plate therebetween, and a first pressing member for operating pressure in the direction of holding on the pair of holding members. The lower fixture is formed from a connecting plate for connecting the support member, a pair of bisected band members for holding the main column material therebetween, and a second pressing member which operates pressure in the direction of holding on the pair of bisected band members.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
